Who We Are

The Front Climbing Club was Utah’s first indoor rock climbing gym.

We may be more than a little biased, but we think The Front is kinda the best. Being the first climbing gym in Utah, we’ve been on the block for a while now and know a thing or two about building thriving communities while getting folks stronger and more confident than their pre-climbing selves ever could’ve imagined. Our once-fringe sport is now officially in vogue, and we are here with open arms to mentor and cultivate respectful, educated, and stoked climbers, and to provide meaningful climbing experiences for all.

The jobs we offer are demanding. But.

Like Clark Kent transforming into Superman, when the workday ends our superstar employees shed their work clothes, trade their blue-light glasses for belay glasses, and hit the mountains with the stoke and fervor of an 8-year-old who just made it to the top of a climbing wall for the very first time. No other organization has garnered such a badass entourage of multi-discipline crushers, go-getter first-ascensionists, and all-around hardcore adventure seekers than The Front. We do not offer easy jobs here… and while we may be weekend warriors, we believe in working just as hard as we play (and we play hard).

Free Membership

You AND a significant other will have free, unfettered access to all our world-class facilities. Oh, and there’s a sauna. NBD.

PTO = Time On Rocks

Long gone are the days of climbing gyms taking advantage of over-stoked employees and working them to the bone. The Front offers PTO to our salaried staff members so you have time to pursue what you love.

Health Benefits

As climbing is growing, so too is our industry support. We are proud to offer several health insurance options for our full-time employees including medical, dental, and vision. It’s not like climbers ever get hurt, right?

Employee Assistance Program

This convenient, confidential, and totally free program offers services to all levels of employees at The Front, including online counseling, lifestyle coaching, and well-being assistance.

Paid Adventures

As our front desk employees grow and flourish professionally (and complete various requisite skills and accomplishments) they’re eligible for a stipend and PTO to go out and experience the great outdoors however they please.

We design and build outstanding and unique facilities that are the “3rd place” for the broader outdoor community, and we maintain and improve our facilities with the utmost attention to detail and care. This creates a foundation for organic and fostered emotional connections with our members and between our members, leading to long-term, loyal, and proud members.   

We add depth and authenticity to our facilities by supporting and contributing to our local communities through volunteerism, educated activism, and both financial and non-financial support.

We look outside the climbing industry for guidance and inspiration, and strive to be at the industry forefront in all respects.
