Brian F.

Brian F.

Brian discovered the benefits of yoga during a rock bottom in 2014. Since then, he has continued to deepen his practice by regularly studying with his primary teachers, Mary Taylor and Richard Freeman. In 2016, Brian’s curiosity led him to Mysore, India, where he focused his studies in ashtanga vinyasa yoga with Sharath Jois. Shortly after completing the Front’s Teacher Training in 2017, Brian began teaching regular yoga classes at The Front.

Brian weaves elements of ashtanga vinyasa yoga, mindfulness, and contemplative practice into his offerings at the Front. He believes practicing yoga should be both seriously playful and playfully serious. His intention and hope for his offerings is that the benefits of the practice trickle into all areas of one’s life, and that yoga is a vehicle to living more authentically.

Off the mat, Brian is a psychedelic integration guide and astrologer. He enjoys reading, learning, hiking, and exploring new places.

Steph N.

Steph N.

Steph discovered yoga through her first guru (her mom) at the age of 14 and feels fortunate to have spent her formative teenage years learning about embodiment and chanting with her family. The practice captured her attention further while attending university and looking for a tool to help her navigate the stress and exertion of that time, and she completed her first 200-hr teacher training in 2012. Since then, Steph has taken every opportunity available to deepen her understanding of this ancient practice. She’s traveled to India twice to immerse herself in traditional training and practices with Kia Miller, and is honored to be considered one of Kia’s senior teachers. Steph has also been fortunate enough to travel throughout the U.S. to study with established ashtanga vinyasa teachers such as Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor. She is grateful to her teachers for providing the example of practicing what you teach, and has had a dedicated sadhana practice since 2016.

Steph has a degree in Exercise + Sport Science with a Nutrition Minor, and has studied and been influenced by Ashtanga, Hatha, Tantra, Himalayan, and Kundalini schools. Her approach to yoga is playful yet grounded, and her intention is to connect you with your breath, alignment, and the more subtle aspects of yourself. Her classes are accessible to all levels and often incorporate arm balances and inversions, mantra, and meditation. Steph currently leads immersive retreats and programs around the world and online that provide the opportunity to dive deeply into traditional practices, recalibrate your nervous system, and establish balancing rituals that deepen a sense of peace and joy.

Rohit

Rohit

Rohit is a dear friend and spiritual advisor of our yoga community here at the Front. Rohit shares a passion for learning and sharing his knowledge on eastern philosophy including several of the sacred texts and ideas that carry the beauty and spirit of love, devotion, compassion and gratitude. Growing up in India, he quickly learnt about the timeless tradition and culture of the country and today continues to develop a deeper understanding of Hinduism, Buddhism, Ayurveda, Yoga, Tantra, Jyotisha, Bhagawad Gita and Upanishads. An inquisitive mind, adept teachers and divine grace has allowed him to continue his spiritual pursuit and, on the way, share this knowledge with other seekers. “I believe one’s path for seeking answers to Who am I? Why am I here and What to do next? may be different, but it is all just a means to an end. We only need to ask ourselves how quickly we want to realize that end, and accordingly choose our paths.” Our YTT students are always very stunned after Rohit’s mind-blowing lectures and presentations.. We are so excited to learn from him again this fall. Read more about our yoga teacher training through the link in our bio. This training is not just for people that want to teach but even more so for those that want to learn more about what yoga truly is. OM Shanti Shanti Shantihi…

James D.

James D.

James hails from the Tetons and has lived in the Wasatch range off and on for several years. His yoga journey began when he took a “Yoga for Wellness” course from Nina Vought while attending Westminster College. Since then, he has completed a 100-hour Vinyasa training with Nikki Sue Miller at Inversion Yoga in Jackson, Wyoming and his RYT-200 in 2020 at the Front with Sarah Jane, Steph Nally, and Sammy Brown. James primarily practices the 26.2 series, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga. In his classes, James builds a strong connection with breath and movement in his flows. James believes that the benefits of yoga come when breath and movement are in sync. He hopes that all who attend his class can experience this connection.

When he’s not teaching you can find James skiing, biking, camping, or off hiking with bud pups.

“The training has been more rich and transformative than I could’ve hoped...I was blown away by the intelligent design of the training. All of the teachers complement each other perfectly. I AM VERY GRATEFUL.”
“I absolutely loved my YTT experience! I went in a different person than coming out and made so many friendships along the way. My outlook on yoga in general has changed and I am so grateful to have the teachers guide me along this path. I couldn’t be any happier with the YT experience at the Front.”

Ashlee
“The Yoga Teacher Training was an enriching learning opportunity. The knowledgeable teachers provided diverse expertise on what yoga encompasses. I feel inspired to continue learning more and deepen my yoga practice. Whether you join the class seeking to teach in the future or to simply expand your personal practice, the Pranic Yoga training will benefit your life; it certainly has positively benefited my life both on or off the mat. Big fan of this experience. Big thank you to all of the teachers for making all of the topics approachable, fun, inspiring and creating a welcoming and friendly environment. Hope to come back again!”

Keara
“The knowledge....has strengthened my understanding of vinyasa flow and I have become a smarter teacher who can create safer and more well-rounded vinyasa sequences....Your training is unique and provides a deeper level of understanding of yoga and its roots, which is sorely needed in the western world. It's a gem...this training is baller.”
“I’m really grateful The Front decided to do a YTT this year, I feel like it was much needed for what was going on in the world...I really enjoyed the training and felt like I received a wealth of knowledge from the instructors. I felt like there was a beautiful balance of practice, philosophy, and anatomy. We touched on so many areas of yoga that it was amazing to dive into so many different aspects in such a short amount of time. Steph brought a beautiful element in her knowledge of Kundalini...Sammy was great in his presentation of anatomy, the sutras, and history. I want him to teach more lectures and workshops. Last but not least...I love that we went into the Hatha Yoga Pradipika! I really enjoyed those classes. I was also a huge fan of the intermediate workshops you did, it brought so much understanding to that series and others postures in primary series.”
