3 Reasons You Should Try Group Fitness at The Front

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “fitness is boring” or “I don’t like to work out by myself,” you’re not alone. Many people feel that working out can be dull, unmotivating, unaffordable, or too time-consuming. Fortunately, there’s a solution. Whether you’re stuck in a rut with your physical fitness goals or simply need some fresh exercises, group fitness at The Front has you covered.

Although it may seem intimidating to work out and sweat in a small room with complete strangers, it can also be very beneficial! In this article, we will go over the top 3 benefits of participating in group fitness at The Front.

1. Community

The Front’s strong and accepting community extends beyond the climbing walls, yoga studios, and social spaces and into the group fitness rooms. Some athletes come to class with friends, while others show up solo, ready to be around like-minded people. Even more than the workouts themselves, the community is what unifies our members and keeps them coming back for more.

In group fitness, we encourage athletes to get to know, support, high-five, and cheer on one another. We want everyone to be inspired by those working hard beside them. Healthy competition is encouraged in our group fitness classes. It’s understood there will always be someone better, but rather than getting discouraged, we embrace that person’s abilities and use them as a motivating spark. In one hour of group fitness, we become a team.

2. Options, Options, Options

Group fitness classes have a wide variety of different workouts and instructors to keep fitness exciting and never stale. From mat Pilates to spin to strength training, there are options for all to enjoy. Not only does each class offer diverse workouts, our classes also offer various levels and intensities for athletes of all strengths and abilities. Our HIIT and Strength Training classes are split into 3 tiers:

  • Intro Tier is great for beginners or experienced athletes who may be coming off an injury. Intro classes are great for athletes looking for more 1:1 attention to ensure their form is appropriate.
  • Intermediate Tier adds more weights, balance work, and coordination into the workout.
  • Advanced Tier takes it up a notch with faster, compound movements and heavier weights.

We also offer specialty classes to add some more spice to the daily routine! Ladies Who Lift is an educational workout class that helps women learn how to maximize and use the weight room. Looking for a low-impact class that still kicks your booty? Pilates, TRX, and Abs Express are going to be the sweet spot.

Alongside the many different class offerings, each teacher provides different techniques, cues, and motivation to help members feel successful in their workouts. From our top trainers to our new hires, each instructor is equipped to ensure every workout is customized to the participants’ specific needs and that everyone is practicing good form.

Looking to feel seen and loved by the ultimate cheerleader in a ridiculously fun class? Adrienne White is the trainer for the job! Need that swift kick in the butt, extra push, and motivation? I (Al Hahn) love to show participants that they’re capable of succeeding if they do not give up. Need to restore, recover, and feel at peace with your body’s hard work? Morgan and Addie offer mobility classes to help athletes slow down and focus on the fundamentals.

3. Physical AND Mental Health Benefits

Weight loss, improved sleep and heart health, stronger bones, tendons, and ligaments that surround the joints, regulation of blood pressure/sugar, and increasing the body’s ability to fight off chronic diseases are just a handful of the endless physical benefits of working out.

Beyond the physical, there are equally important mental benefits. Athletes who work out can better regulate stress, relax more, and feel more positive, all thanks to the chemicals released during exercise. Further, self-esteem increases with exercise and our concentration improves, resulting in sharper memory. Best of all, we leave with a natural boost to our mood.

Working out is an opportunity to grow not just physically, but mentally and socially. The Front’s group fitness program focuses on ensuring a strong, supportive community that enables workouts that are fun and fit for the needs of every athlete’s body. Our staff’s goal is to have participants move better, feel better, and live better in their daily lives.
